Souls-Like Prototype UE5
A downloadable game for Windows
A Souls-Like style action game created in Unreal Engine 5. The game might be difficult, depending on your prior gaming experience and reflexes. The playtime is around 10 minutes, if you do not die at all.
The project was created in around 2-3 weeks, this is just a prototype meant to test and iterate the features, especially the combat system. Most of the environment is checker textured. Might not run smoothly on older computers.
The project is based on the "Unreal Engine 5 C++ The Ultimate Game Developer Course" by Stephen Ulibarri on Udemy, however I tweaked the combat system a bit to resemble more of the Dark Souls series, without most of the mechanics found in those games.
This project uses the Action RPG Sample Project on the unreal marketplace and several other free assets from the unreal marketplace, mixamo.com, freesound.org and from the content of the course.
CONTROLS AND MECHANICS
Esc - Restart map
Left Mouse - Attack
Space - Dodge
Has iFrames from the beginning to close to the end, and the enemies cannot track you in their attacks while this is active.
E - Interact
You can interact with weapons to pick them up. There are places with particles coming from the ground, they can also be interacted with to convert your souls to max health or stamina (10 souls is 4 max health or stamina), the place with the white particles can convert gold to souls (500 is 10 souls), and the place with the big potion mesh and yellow particles can be used to buy potions with coins (1000 is 1 potion)
R - Drink Potion
(Right Mouse - Jump, but this does not serve any purpose in the game currently)
(Tab - Draw/Sheathe weapon, does not serve any purpose, other than a slight speed boost while the weapon is sheathed)
Alt + F4 - Exit Game :D

may i use the combat system in my own project?
I'm not really sure I understand what you mean. You want the project? Or the code? Or just make a combat system like this?
If it's okay, I would like the project files. This combat is so well-made!
I have to decline, however if you need some help I would be happy to give advice on a feature, or explain how I did something in this project. Discord name is davaronas.
Really good! Keep up!
Thank you!
